FINAL AUCTION SALE April 9, 2009

Filed under: Auction news feed — KB @ 4:01 pm

Welcome to the final sale of auction items! This is first-come, first-served — the first email received will determine the purchaser. Sorry, prices are not negotiable. We strongly prefer credit card payments for these items, but we will also accept payment by check or cash (do not send credit card info via email). Auction treasurer Jen Mercer will be in contact with the winners to arrange payment. Purchase of these items is “as is” — no refunds will be issued. All proceeds from today’s sale will go to auction revenue, which goes into SPA’s budget for the ’09-10 school year.

In order to purchase, send an email immediately with your name and phone number, and listing your desired item(s) to:

Auction Preview Day this Friday!! March 18, 2009

Filed under: Auction news feed — KB @ 4:08 pm

THIS FRIDAY IS OUR AUCTION PREVIEW DAY!

Friday, March 20, 2:45 to 6:00 p.m. in the MUR. We will showcase our class projects and open bidding on all these projects to the entire school.  Drop by after school or after work to see the wonderful projects that our kids, parents and teachers have created for this year’s Auction.  We have gorgeous original art, patio furniture and garden accessories, cute creations perfect for a child’s room, lots of hand-made goodies … and many more surprises.

Open bidding on class projects: If you see something you like, you can write down the maximum amount you’re willing to pay. If you are not outbid on Auction night, you win it!

We have three new things at this year’s Preview Day:

  • You can purchase raffle tickets for our ongoing 3 raffles: a one-week stay for two in a Mazatlan, Mexico beachfront bed & breakfast ($10 per ticket) ; a brand-new Wii gaming system ($5 per ticket); and an “instant wine cellar” of more than 50 bottles of fine wine ($20 per ticket)!  Drawings will be Auction night — but anyone can buy raffle tickets.
  • You can buy Auction tickets! We have less than 20 tickets left — don’t miss out on a great party … the biggest school fundraiser of the year! Tickets are $60 per person.
  • You can reserve your spot(s) at one of our seven sign-up parties. Prices range from $10 to $50 per person, depending on the party.

Bring your check or credit card on Friday … we’ll see you there!

All you single ladies February 2, 2009

Filed under: Auction news feed — KB @ 6:24 pm

Hey, all you single ladies — we’re setting aside a couple of “singles” tables for those of you who are coming “spouse-free” to support Sequoia and have a fun night at the Auction with friends. Seating is open for the other tables; however, if you notify us that you want to be seated at a singles table, we will reserve your spot! Email booth_doorlay@yahoo.com.

This week’s updates … from the Auction Team January 26, 2009

IN TODAY’S BLOG: another Wine Donation Station scheduled for this Friday, Jan. 30 … how and when to donate … auction survey … how to buy your tickets … photos from last year’s auction

Wine Donation Station #2 — this Friday, Jan. 30

We’re trying it again, folks! A wet and dreary day made for a less-than-spectacular turnout for last Friday’s donation station, so we’re setting it up again this Friday. Same location: the corner of Liahona Ct. and Boyd Rd. just past the creek and adjacent to campus.

Here’s what we would like donated: wine (no boxed or jug wines, please … or two-buck Chuck, either) of any variety — chardonnay, merlot, cabernet sauvignon, pinot noir, etc.  We’ll also gladly accept champagne, dessert wine, port and anything else you have on hand. We’re building an “instant wine cellar” that will be raffled off on Auction night.

We would also like your unused gift cards and any other donations you have — bring ’em by!

Many thanks to the parents who dropped their donations by last Friday: Ursula Hawe, Laurie Taul, Adam Warda, Karen Gottschalk, Dick Barkelew, Elisabeth Lucio, Heather Gowdy, Cathy Chang, and Jill Newquist.

Donations, donations, donations

Please donate now to avoid a begging phone call from our donations team! We’ve put out lots of info about what makes a good donation — check the Auction newsletter that went home in backpacks last week if you’re unsure. Or call us to chat about it — we’re always available. Also, some parents have asked if they can only donate on the days we hold a Donation Station … we are accepting donations anytime, anywhere.

In fact, here I am … if you see me around campus, I’m happy to take it. Oh, and here’s Julie Hood, too – she’ll take your donations as well.

Survey

Thanks to all you busy parents who took time to respond to our Auction survey. Results are helping us get the donations you are most interested in. If you haven’t taken it yet, you can still do so; copy and paste this into your browser:

Buy your tickets today!

Get ’em now while we still have tickets available … the price is $60 per person, available by calling Susan Nelson at 229-9693. You can also write a check and remit to the red Auction folder in the school office — we’ll contact you later about your meal selection for the evening. Thanks!

Here’s what you have to look forward to …

Check out these photos from last year’s Auction. It was a really fun evening, and all proceeds went right back to Sequoia to buy classroom supplies, books, and help support SPA programs such as field trips, art appreciation, classroom grants and much more.

Check back soon for photos of new donations we’re getting in …  Enjoy!
